Summer’s here and Hollywood Joseph brings you a sizzling new story full of entertainment!
Happy 4th of July! I love summer – it’s got to be my favorite time of year. The sun is shining (well the sun’s out most of the time…this IS LA after all!), BBQ’s are fired up, tourists are visiting and Katy Perry is singing in the street!
Fireworks were definitely in the air during Katy Perry’s free concert on Hollywood Boulevard! There are so many great perks as a Hollywood Wax Museum employee, and watching Katy belt out hits like “Last Friday Night” tops the list!
While working at our Starring You kiosk in front of Hollywood & Highland, I got to see the crew constructing a huge stage only 10 feet away. I was right in the middle of the action!
With the stage finally complete and a huge crowd packing Hollywood Boulevard, Miss Katy Perry appeared front and center wearing quite a flashy outfit! They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and, luckily I snapped quite a few! I stood up on my chair for a perfect, close view and came directly into Katy’s sight. Let me tell you, it was pretty cool when she pointed straight at me while performing “California Girls”.
Katy did the street concert to promote her new movie, Katy Perry: Part of Me, opening TODAY. The 3D movie documents the former folk-singer-turned-pop-icon’s life, both on and off stage. I must admit, her songs are super catchy and I did a bit of dancing during her 30-minute performance.
As if the day couldn’t get any better, Linkin Park (my all-time favorite band) made a surprise drop-in. Their album, Living Things, was just released, and “Burn it Down” is already this summer’s anthem.
Thanks for the scoop, Joseph!
